August 14, 2018 will herald in the series finale of one of TellTale Game’s most beloved franchises. The Walking Dead: The Final Season is headed to PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC in just under a week so if you have been patiently waiting for the conclusion to Clementine’s story, you don’t have long to wait.
Episode One, ‘Done Running,’ will launch the final chapter in Clementine’s journey and will introduce new visuals, mechanics, and characters to the series. If you can’t wait a few more days, there is a free playable demo that is now available across all three platforms.
Telltale Games and Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment launched the official trailer today for The Walking Dead: The Final Season, providing the deepest dive yet into the upcoming season premiere.
Everyone who pre-orders The Final Season will receive download access to each of the season’s four episodes as they become available. As a free pre-order bonus, if you pre-order on PS4 and Xbox One, you will also immediately receive The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series Collection — which gathers all 19 existing episodes of the award-winning series into a single package.
Don’t worry, PC gamers wont be left out in the cold. If you pre-order for PC on Steam, GOG, GamersGate, or the Humble Store, you will receive 10% off the full retail price.
The new series will begin as Clementine, now a fierce and capable survivor, has reached the final chapter in her journey. After years on the road facing threats both living and dead, she stumbles upon a secluded school that might finally offer her the opportunity to finally have a place she can call home. But protecting it will mean sacrifice.
Clem must build a life and become a leader while still watching over AJ, an orphaned boy and the closest thing to family she has left. In this gripping, emotional final season, you will define your relationships, fight the undead, and determine how Clementine’s story will come to its conclusion.
I have been waiting for this game since E3 this year and from what I have seen, it looks to be something that the folks at Telltale will be able to be very proud of. The visuals look better than ever, which is much-needed, but I am just sad that it has to come as Clem is reaching the end of her story arc.
