There is a lot that goes into a gaming desk. It has to be comfortable to sit at for long periods of time. It should be sturdy. It should look bad ass. It should, most of all, be able to house all your gaming systems and setup.
There are a plethora of options out there, but there are some brands that stand out. One of these is DXRacer, and they’ve created an incredible gaming desk.
You’re probably already familiar with the chair they make, because the DXRacer gaming desk is a relatively new product. However, it certainly warrants taking a closer look at.
Today we are doing an in-depth review of the DXRacer gaming desk.
We’ll go into great detail, and lay out all the pros and cons. By the end of this post, you’ll have a good idea as to whether or not you should be buying this gaming desk.
Let’s get started.
- Double Triangle Design, Strong and Durable
- High Quality ABS+Wooden Desk Board+Steel Rod Frame
- 10 Degree Slope
- Massive Wire Management
- 360 Degree Rotatable, Easy to Move
DXRacer Gaming Desk Review: The Nitty Gritty
As previously mentioned, DXRacer has a reputation for crafting great gaming chairs. Anyone who has spent some time seated in one knows what I mean. They are plush. Anyhow, with that sort of reputation on the line, we knew that, to a certain degree, their gaming desk would also not disappoint.
DXRacer dimensions and specs
This is key. Don’t skip reading this.
You want to be sure that the desk you buy fits in the living area you have, has the storage capability to house all your gaming equipment and peripherals, and be sturdy enough to support all that weight.
From monitors, systems, and computers, all the way down to your headset and more, everything should ideally fit here.
The DXRacer gaming desk measures at 31.5”h x 31.5”d x 47.3”l.
By our standards, this is plenty of room for almost any gaming setup you can think of. The space also allows for a dual monitor setup with ease.
As far as weight capacity is concerned, the DX Racer gaming desk can hold upwards of 110 pounds with ease. That’s pretty good.
Aesthetic & Design
The design of the desk is quite beautiful, especially when you see the desk in person. Pictures really don’t seem to do it justice. DXRacer didn’t skimp on anything, and all materials are top of the line.
The top is natural wood, which is inherently stronger than compressed or particle boards. What this means is that the desk is less likely to sag under pressure, and will last longer than a lot of the other options on the market.
The frame is solid steel, which adds a lot of support. The bars are all positioned smartly, which doesn’t only help the desk remain standing upright, but also reduces torque, twisting, and swaying.
A lot of the other desks we looked at failed in this regard. The last thing you want is a wobble when you move your mouse or make adjustments.
The fabric piece in the back is constructed from carbon fiber, and also helps to keep your wires looking clean and under control. It is removable, though.
The grommets on the left and right side are great for cable routing, and if you need to have cables coming through the center of the table, there are two holes in the back as well for even more versatility in cable management..
We know that this is a company that routinely makes excellent products with ergonomically sound designs, and at first glance, this table is chock-full of awesome features.
Some of the most notable are:
This has everything you need for proper wire management. Two grommets on the left and right corners of the table, and two holes in the very back.
It also takes cable management a step further with that back cover. All your wires can be run behind the carbon fiber cover, keeping your setup clutter-free.
The table is constructed from solid stuff. From the natural wood table top to the solid steel rods keeping it upright, everything is hefty in weight, not easily moved, and gives you the luxury of knowing everything on your desk is going to be secure while it’s there.
There’s easily enough space for even the most robust gaming setups.
Obviously, nothing is perfect. If anything negative, it would really be:
Holy hallelujah, you really do get what you pay for, I guess. This is one of the most expensive gaming desks we came across.
The height also isn’t adjustable, something we had really hoped for.
So, is it a Good Deal?
Man, I hate this question.
In all honesty, if you want a really solid desk that will last you a long time, this is a good choice. If you have their chair, the matching set is also pretty sick.
However, if you’re on a budget, this really isn’t the way to go.
About the DXRacer Brand
DXRacer has been a staple in gaming furniture for years. As mentioned, they are mainly known for their chairs, which are top-notch and will last you (literally) years.
They were founded in 2003, initially making racing seats for racing, and became a world leader among car accessory manufacturers. Over time they decided to make gaming seats, and that is lucky for us.
Tons of research goes into each product, as well as numerous meticulous tweaks. Rest assured that on the R&D side of things, these guys have got you covered.
Yes, their prices are high, but it’s because they want to service a segment of the market that knows quality when they see it. I can’t argue against that.
If you’re still on the fence about buying the DXRacer gaming desk, you’re not alone.
Because it’s a relatively new product, it hasn’t had nearly as much real-world use as some of the other options. Not to mention, there are many who are apprehensive on the price.
However, if you’re in the market for a quality gaming desk, this is a good choice. You can rest assured that you’ll be getting you something that can support everything you throw at it, look nice, and last you years.
