Games and comics: The PROTOTYPE to success
BY Jeremy HillApril 16th, 2008 More on:

Games and comics really go hand in hand. They can both take you away from the harsh reality of not being able to stop traffic with your feet or fly in the sky with a surfboard. Sierra Entertainment and DC Comics know the feeling, so they’ve decided to team up and bring us a brand new comic book series based on the upcoming game PROTOTYPE. You’ll be able to scoop this bad boy up later this year, in August.

So is PROTOTYPE worthy to be made into a comic? Well let’s see. PROTOTYPE is about a mutated, shape shifting badass that can’t remember anything about himself. In order to find answers, he runs amuck in New York City, killing off the military while simultaneously absorbing the appearance and memories of anyone who gets in his way. All the while, he’s sporting a hoodie. Now if we could just get Superman to do that, we’d be in business.

Even the VP and General Manager of WildStorm (publishing imprint for DC Comics) says, “PROTOTYPE’s back-story, visuals and gameplay are stunning, and we have every intention of bringing those core pillars to our book because this is a great opportunity to expand on the world they’ve created, and build something new and interesting for comic book fans.”

The game itself is looking to be released on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC in the summer.
