Nintendo downloads for the week of May 11

Only three game releases this week via download on Nintendo platform and all in all it’s a pretty solid line up. First Real Soccer 2009 (Gameloft, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone, 800 Nintendo DSi Points) delivers itself onto the DSi, followed by Family Pirate Party (Aksys Games, 1-4 players, Rated E 10+ for Everyone 10 and Older – Mild Cartoon Violence and Suggestive Themes, 500 Wii Points) for WiiWare and rounded out by Galaxy Force II (Sega Genesis, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone – Fantasy Violence, 800 Wii Points) for the VC.

Real Soccer sounds very impressive if it is indeed an entire soccer game for download. It is going to feature name players and the ability to take a picture and use it as a team flag or on the soccer ball itself. Considering the popularity of soccer in every part of the world outside of the U.S. this could be a huge seller.

Do we even need to discuss Pirate Party? It’s a Mario Party style videogame/board game for the whole family to enjoy. Now I love me some Mario Party every once in a while, but one game in this style every year is quite enough. Galaxy Force II does bring some enjoyment to these retro eyes. As one of the old school 3D shooters it has quite a lineage. If you aren’t a soccer fan then this is by far the best choice.
