The Army sees the future…and it looks a lot like a videogame

It is unknown how warfare will be influenced by events in the future; however, if this article is any indication, war in the future will bear striking similarities to what is experienced in games such as Crackdown and Mass Effect.

The article describes a solider that “is aided by smart drugs, enhanced with prosthetics, protected by a suit of armor and possessing superhuman abilities that would make Iron Man jealous.” The ideal is based on the “Future Solider 2030” plan whose source is the Natick Soldier Systems Center in Massachusetts, an Army association whose responsibilities include researching and developing new technologies for the individual fighters.

Should this plan work, it would undoubtedly aid anyone wearing it in a battle. However, hopefully the bad 80s era sci-fi design will be improved upon. Considerably.
