Fallout: New Vegas generates $300 million

Last month’s Fallout: New Vegas has brought in “record sales” for Bethesda, the publisher writes in a congratulatory announcement sent out today.

The release of the Obsidian-developer RPG has been met with “huge consumer demand,” it says, and so much so that the 5 million or so copies shipped to retailers worldwide is apparently not sufficient; the publisher has received “substantial re-orders” from retailers, Bethesda president Vlatko Andonov says.

Retail-to-consumer sales numbers aren’t offered, but the combined Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and digital downloads are said to add up to “well over” $300 million. That’s enough to guarantee the continuation of the series, we reckon.
