Analyst: Grand Theft Auto V in 2012

Rockstar’s next Grand Theft Auto title will release in publisher Take-Two’s fiscal year 2012, Janco Partners’ Mike Hickey finds it “likely.” That’s between April 2012 and March 2013.

The analyst expects the game to sell in the region of 16 million copies and pull in $750 million for the publisher.

Take-Two itself has remained quiet on the fifth game, making it clear they’re going not to make any announcements until they’re good and ready. “We’re not going to announce it, we’re not going to announce when we are going to announce it, and we are not going to announce a strategy about announcing it or about when we are going to announce it either, or about the announcement strategy surrounding the announcement of the strategy,” Chairman of the Board Strauss Zelnick comically said during an investors call last September.

Hickey also expect Irrational’s next, BioShock Infinite, to arrive in fiscal 2012 and believes it to sell 4 million copies.

With LA Noire, Max Payne 3 and Duke Nukem Forever lined up, 2011 is predicted to be a good one for Take-Two as well.
