Kinect almost triples 360 sales in Japan

Kinect may be off to a “rough start” in Japan, but it still managed to give Xbox 360 sales in the country a considerable boost; the device’s release last Saturday almost tripled hardware sales before the the of the weekly tracking period a day later. The figures themselves aren’t too impressive though: the boost was from 2,686 units in the week prior to 7,083, which is still far, far behind the competition; Wii sold 27,851 machines in the same week, while PS3 pushed 29,058 units.

PSP was the big winner with 96,601.
