AC: Brotherhood sells 1 million in first European week, new game in 2011

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Ubisoft’s latest entry in the popular series, sold over a million units in Europe during its first week, and has become the fastest-selling Ubisoft title ever in the territory.

Further, to date, the Assassin’s series has sold over 20 million units worldwide and is on pace to hit 30 million by the end of 2011. How will the series get to 30 million? According to Geoffroy Sardin, EMEA chief of marketing and sales at Ubisoft, a fourth Assassin’s title will release next year. Unfortunately, he provided no firm information on the title, only saying: “Yes, Yves [Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO] mentioned it last week in our financials – and more details will be forthcoming. But what I can say is that next year we will have another big Assassin’s Creed game.”

I haven’t yet picked up Brotherhood, have you?
