No Vita for US, UK until next year

Sony Chairman Kazuo Hirai has announced that PlayStation Vita, the company’s newest entry into the handheld market, wouldn’t be available outside of Japan until early 2012. This news, of course, directly contradicts the rumor of an October 28 release date.

Those in the US looking to set aside a few bucks for the system should remember there are two versions, a $249 Wi-Fi model and a $299 3G version. Still no word on UK pricing details but, with the Vita now set to arrive in stores after the new year, further details are likely incoming in a few weeks, with Gamescom and PAX occurring soon.
