Multiple sequels recording significant pre-order boosts

A number of games across genres have been recording a rather significant boost in pre-orders when compared to their respective predecessors. Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3, FIFA 12, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, Batman: Arkham City and Gears of War 3 have all seem to have generated enough hype to warrant people placing a pre-order rather than wait for the game to hit shelves. “We have already started seeing a great deal of excitement about the major videogames launches for Christmas this year and that can be seen by how many people are pre-ordering these titles,” said videogame manager at Ltd Liz Hosmer. “Call of Duty: Black Ops is the biggest selling videogame of all-time on and it looks from these figures like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 might well be challenging for that title come the end of the year.”

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception (November 2011) 488% more pre-orders than Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
