iPad market share down 20% because of Android

Apple is a behemoth of a company, and iPad owns most of the tablet market. However, tablets running on Google’s Android operating system are taking a bite out of Apple’s market share.

According to ABI Research (via Industry Gamers), Android tablets like the Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab, and others, have stolen away 20% of the iPad’s market share in the past 12 months.

However, there’s no need to fret just yet for Apple. Analyst Jeff Orr says, “Many vendors have introduced media tablets, but none are separating themselves from the pack to pose a serious threat to Apple.”
