‘MMO of the Year 2013’ nominees announced

GameGenetics, a distributor of free-to-play online games, has announced the nominees for its MMO of the Year 2013 awards. The company has been doing this for the past 8 years, and doles out awards for all MMOs, from browser-based games like Dragons of Atlantis (yes, from those ads that plague many a video game site) to high production downloads like Guild Wars 2. Even mobile MMOs are represented here. However, I still can’t shake the thought that this should be for the year 2012, but oh well. Voting for the MMO of the Year nominees in their respective categories begins Tuesday, January 15th.

While we here at TVBG rarely cover mobile or browser-based MMOs, the download-based MMO categories contain games we should all be familiar with/have played/still play. The nominees for best download MMOs are (in alphabetical order):

Best Strategy Download:
– Carte
– Might & Magic: Duel of Champions

Best Role-playing Download:
– Champions Online
– Guild Wars 2
– RaiderZ
– The Secret World
– Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroes
– Wizardy Online

Best Action Download:
– Blacklight: Retribution
– Brick-Force
– District 187
– Gotham City Imposters
– Hawken
– MechWarrior Online
– PlanetSide 2
