Starting today, you can take part in the revolution in the first Call of Duty: Black Ops II DLC map pack entitled Call of Duty: Black Ops II Revolution. The Revolution map pack is the first of four to be released in the coming months for CoD: Black Ops II. The pack includes four new multiplayer maps, as well as a new Zombies map ‘Die Rise’. The maps included are:
– ‘Grind’ – involves a Venice Beach skate park.
– ‘Downhill’ – snowy alpine chateau with close combat in mind.
– ‘Hydro’ – hydroelectric plant/dam located in Pakistan.
– ‘Mirage’ – luxury villa in the desert.
Other offerings include a new multiplayer weapon called the ‘Peacekeeper’ and the new ‘Zombies’ mode which allows players to play as zombies themselves. This will give players the excuse to yell “brains!” over and over into their headsets, replacing the more common verbal taunts involving your mother and her involvement with other 14 year old players who just so happen to be playing the same map as you.
To premiere the launch, third baseman Evan Longoria of my hometown favorite Tampa Bay Rays will be taking on pitcher Matt Cain of the San Francisco Giants in a grudge match for some Call of Duty bragging rights during the MLB season. Highlights from the event can be found on the CoD facebook page.
The Revolution DLC will run you 800 MS Points, and is of course included with the Season Pass. The DLC will also be available for other platforms, but a release date hasn’t been stated, but count on about a month for the Xbox 360 exclusives.
