Free Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance VR missions available now for PS3 users; mutiplatform DLC due in April

If you bought Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance on the PS3 out of some sense of loyalty because the original Metal Gear Solid was on the PSX, then congratulations, Konami is rewarding you for your faithfulness. Exclusive to the PS3 version of Revengeance and free for a limited time, 30 VR Missions are now available to download, featuring that classic “Holy crap, it’s Virtual Reality!” look from the original games. Unique challenges and preset conditions are sure to put Raiden’s abilities to the test; who, coincidentally, is no stranger to VR (wasn’t the entire plot of Metal Gear Solid 2 that Raiden was in a simulation of Shadow Moses from the first game or some such nonsense?).

Konami has also revealed that 2 DLC packs will be out for Revengeance in April, for both the PS3 and 360. The first pack, named Jetstream, is a side story where you play as bad-ass cyborg Sam. The second, called Blade Wolf, is another side tale where you get to play as Wolfy McRobot Beast, Blade Wolf (duh). Both packs feature hours of gameplay, unique abilities for both characters, and fleshed-out origins for each. The two packs will set gamers back $7 for each one. More information on Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and its DLC can be found at its explodey website here.
