Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn release info for PS4

Square Enix has dropped the due date on Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. PlayStation 4 users can expect this bundle of joy to be available on April 14, 2014. The official online service for the game will also start that very same day. This is what the official box art for the game looks like:

30 days for free... GOOD.

Starting today, however, you can pre-order both the Standard Edition or the Collector’s Edition of the game through the Square Enix Online Store. Included with both pre-orders will include two in-game items (Mog Cap & Cait Sith Doll minion) and the ability to participate in Early Access starting on April 11. The limited CE will come with lots of other goodies at the cost of $79.99. The SE is priced at $39.99.

Here’s what you get with the FFXIV:ARR CE:

  • Special box featuring artwork by Yoshitaka Amano
  • Art Book – The Art of Eorzea: A Realm Reimagined
  • Special Soundtrack -The Sounds of Eorzea-
  • Seventh Umbral Era Special Movie Content Disc – The Waning of the Sixth Sun
  • Art Card Set
  • Themed Security Token
  • In-Game Items – Coeurl Mount, Behemoth Barding, Baby Behemoth minion, Helm of Light, Fat Chocobo Mount and Wind-up Moogle minion

Additionally, players who already have a registered copy of FFXIV:ARR, or utilized the digital CE upgrade service, will automatically receive the two new in-game items (Fat Chocobo Mount & Wind-up Moogle minion) for free.

PS4 owners will be able to join the FFXIV:ARR Beta Test at no cost starting on February 22. If you have been playing on the PS3, you will be able to transfer your accounts to the PS4 version for free starting April 11. But be advised that once you do this, there is no going back to the PS3 version (not that you would anyway).

So I think Square Enix has you covered, in more ways than one.
