Fans of stylish combat, rejoice: DmC Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 4 are on their way to the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Details are scarce on Devil May Cry 4, but Capcom had plenty to say about what will be called DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition. It definitely sounds like it will live up to that name, with a fair bit of new content in addition to upgraded visuals.
Not that the visuals aren’t important too. The Definitive Edition will run at 1080p and 60 fps on both consoles, something few third party games can say. For many fans, though, the new content will be a bigger draw. All of the game’s DLC will be included, as is the standard, but the game will also have a new feature called Vergil’s Bloody Palace. This puts the player in the shoes of Dante’s brother Vergil in a series of survival battles. There are also a ton of new modes coming to the game: Turbo Mode, which makes everything 20% faster; Hardcore Mode and Manual Target Lock, which make gameplay feel more like the original Devil May Cry games; Must Style Mode, which doesn’t let you deal any damage unless your style rank is at least S; and the Gods Must Die difficulty level, which is exactly what it sounds like. The overall gameplay has also been tweaked and balanced based on player feedback, and the developer even worked in some popular mods.
If all of this sounds great to you, good news: you only have to wait a few months. DMC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition will be released on March 17th, 2015 with an MSRP of $39.99. Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition is expected to launch during the summer, but Capcom hasn’t announced a specific release date yet.
