EA’s Mirror’s Edge Catalyst gets release date and trailer

Are you as ready as I am to step back into the ultra-red shoes of rooftop runner Faith Connors?

Well, we have less than a year to wait until we can. During EA’s E3 press conference it was announced that the long awaited don’t-call-it-a-sequel Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will be released February 23rd, 2016.

A trailer has also been unveiled showing our fearless heroine hitting the dystopian rooftops of a city much darker than the one featured in her previous adventure. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will disclose the origin of Connors as she grows up in a sinister totalitarian society, before taking to the high-rises to commence her personal brand of vent-hopping, head-kicking mayhem.

The follow-up to the polarising game of 2008 will be open-world and yet will feature no loading screens. Whether that means the return of numerous elevators is yet to be seen. Fortunately, we don’t have to wait too long to find out.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will be released on Xbox One, Ps4 and PC via Origin.
