AR Master Shooter aims for a more immersive gaming experience

AR Master Shooter is the newest game from Media 4. The augmented reality (AR) game brings elements of standard first-person shooting games into your physical environment to create an immersive gaming experience all with just your mobile device.

The goal of AR Master Shooter is to put you in the shoes of an FPS. Rather  than sitting on the couch with your controller, you use your environment and move to draw, aim, and shoot. Of course, your progress is rewarded with points and ranks, different levels with different weapons and customization options.

The targets within the game come in the form of “bull’s-eye” and “thug”, while innocents like hostages and civilians manage to get in the way and make life harder for you (of course, you don’t want to shoot granny)! For now, the game is new and has limited levels, but new levels are in development. A non-AR version of the game is also in development for those who don’t want their games to be that realistic.

The game was made in Unreal Engine 4, the popular engine behind many of your favorite games.  Media 4 knows AR, and recently added their expertise with the 3D models for the game scenes in Beta Test.

Augmented reality is still in its infancy and not many developers are in the field, so it is exciting to see a few pioneers bringing us different game types to try out.

As with most new AR games, it’s possible that AR Master Shooter will not work with some devices. The developers are constantly at work to improve support and compatibility for both Android and iOS, so be sure to reach out if you have any issues. The best part? The game is free on Google Play and only $0.99 in the App Store
