Skylanders Imaginators confirmed for Nintendo Switch

Last week, shortly after Nintendo’s presentation of the Nintendo Switch, Activision announced that Skylanders Imaginators will be available for the new console in March. Originally released back in October for other home consoles, this will be the only portable version of the latest game in the original toys-to-life series. As with previous portable Skylanders games, the Switch version of Imaginators will allow players to save their characters digitally once they are introduced by the game’s “Portal of Power,” meaning it will not be necessary for portable play. The Switch version will also support all of the characters and Creation Crystals already available for the game.

In addition, Activision announced that other new products for the game will arrive in March as well. Most interestingly, there will be a “Cursed Tiki Temple Level Pack,” which will include a new Sensei character figure, a new Creation Crystal, a chest holding pieces for the game’s created characters, and a new level for the game. The pack will apparently introduce 100 new pieces for custom characters, presumably unlocked mostly through the level. In addition to this pack, a Sensei character called Grave Clobber will be released in March as well.

We don’t have an exact release date for the game, but the new Level Pack will be released on March 12th. For more information about Skylanders Imaginators, see our review of the Wii U version here.
