3DS parts reportedly cost $101

It appears Nintendo will surely make a profit on every 3DS sold.

According to a tech breakdown done by UBM TechInsights, the raw parts for Nintendo’s new portable weigh in for a total of about $101. The device goes on sale in North America this Sunday priced at $250.

Now, the $101 figure obviously does not take in to account research and development or marketing costs (which are likely high), so while Nintendo will  make a profit on each unit, the margin may not be as wildly large as it seems.
