On the last day of Eurogamer Expo 2012, an unexpected—for me at least—demo was shown! We’ve been shown screenshots, we’ve been made promises, but now we finally have something tangible. I’ve always considered Oddworld to largely be an unappreciated title here in America. The series have been around for a while with new additions and the games have always been funny, weird, and entertaining. So if you’ve never played one of these, next year is a great time to get onboard.
Yeah, it’s kind of scary that they’re talking about a whole year. But wait until you see the pre-alpha demo below! According to Oddworld Inhabitants, the only reason they have been able to take this project on is solely due to digital sales. They said that only 50% of their revenue comes from console and PC games. Abe’s Oddysee HD can already be played at 6ofps on the PC and they promise that this version will come with new puzzles. Courtesy of Eurogamer, we have the entire presentation from earlier today for you to watch! However, for those of you who have a life and don’t want to watch a bunch of nerds trying to be entertaining, skip ahead to the 41 minute mark. That’s right. You read it right.
Come to think of it, wouldn’t Abe make a great character for Playstation All-Stars?
