Acti confirms 2011 Call of Duty, new Transformers/Hero games

Activision has confirmed the inevitable; there will be a new Call of Duty game in 2011; talking on the company’s quarterly earnings call yesterday, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg promised a new “large-scale” entry to the series.

“In the back half of 2011 we are launching new, large-scale Call of Duty first-person action title,” the exec said. “The creative talent and research that we now have devoted to the Call of Duty brand are unprecedented and given the gameplay we’ve seen to date, we could not be more excited about next year’s release.”

Whether this is Infinity Ward’s next or the game Sledgehammer has been working on is unclear though.

The publishing giant also promised new games in the Hero franchises, as well as another Transformers game.
