Activision boss resigns
The CEO and president of Activision Publishing Mike Griffith has jumped ship. He resigned from both of his roles on Apr. 23.
Griffith’s resignation follows the almighty quake that erupted in March, following the sacking of West and Zampella from Infinity Ward. It continues to rumble even now, with the recent news that a whole bunch of IW staff are suing Activision and analyst chatter that the studio will “essentially” be closed later this year. Eyjafjallajökull ain’t got nothing on this.
Griffith will now have to get by merely as vice chairman of Activision Blizzard. Apparently, that’s worth just $250,000 a year, plus discretionary bonuses. That’s on a year-by-year contract. We’re arranging a whip-round.
