Crysis 2, Dungeon Siege III getting comic book treatment

Two vastly different games are getting two similar marketing campaigns. Both Crytek’s Crysis 2 and Obsidian’s Dungeon Siege III will be getting comic book spin-offs this year.

IDW will publish Crysis, which bridges the gap between the first and second game. Richard Morgan, the script writer for the game is behind the six-issue series. Peter Bergting will handle the art.

Meanwhile on the other side of the gaming spectrum, Dark Horse Comics are working on a Dungeon Siege III digi-comic for the game’s official site. Jeremy Barlow is penning this one, while artists include Iban Coello and Sergio Abad. Three stories will be included in the comic. On top of that there will be a new comic book stashed in with the game if you buy it from Walmart.

Crysis 2 hits next week. Dungeon Siege is at the end of May.
