Dead Space to get FPS, “Uncharted-like” additions; DS3 has co-op — rumor

Considering EA’s success with its still-young Dead Space franchise, it doesn’t come as a surprise the publisher would want to add to it with new products. How does a Dead Space first-person shooter sound? Flight sim? No?

Despite having expanded on the creepy sci-fi universe with animated flicks, comics, a novel, and even an XBLA/PSN arcade game, we haven’t seen nothing yet, an insider has told Kotaku.

“Bigger and better” is where Dead Space must set its sights, the report reads. To that end, an FPS is being looked into. There are also plans for a flight game of sorts. We dare not speculate.

Once those are completed, “an Uncharted-like game” is next.

Dead Space 3 appears to be first in line however, expected to finish the Isaac trilogy on an ice planet as rumored earlier (catch up here and here). A detail we didn’t have before is that cooperative play will apparently be included this time around.

None of this is even mildly official for now though, so keep that grain of salt handy. Just in case.
