‘Dramatic graphical improvements’ still ahead for Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, out in “early 2012”
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, announced back in January, had us at “CryEngine 3.” But with no launch date whatsoever attached to the shooter, the first in-game shots of the game in action came off as just plain cruel.
While there’s still no official launch date, we now do have a launch window.
“We’re going to be out first-half of next year, so early 2012,” City Interactive’s John Goddard said in an E3 video chat, not missing the chance to talk up the game’s already-impressive visuals; expect the title to improve “dramatically” over what’s been shown so far.
“I think the game’s looking phenomenal and I think we’re going to see it dramatically improve even from this level,” according to Goddard.
“CryEngine is an amazing tool. Crytek are awesome. And it’s going to be supporting all the updates and on-going support that Crytek will be building into CryEngine. So it’s going to look even better when it ships.”
“Early 2012” then. The game will ship for all PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
