Frostbite 2 to power unannounced Danger Close shooter

Medal of Honor might have fallen short in the eyes of some fans, but was still a decent shooter that ultimately found itself sandwiched between the Call of Duty and Battlefield games. With over 5 million units sold, it did what was necessary to warrant a follow-up, which Danger Close is now working on, according to executive producer Greg Goodrich.

But what about it? A Danger Close job listing for a Level Designer suggests it’ll be “one of the largest first person shooter titles of the year” with a “strong multiplayer focus.” More importantly, and interestingly, the game will be powered by DICE’s new Frostbite 2 engine, which is the foundation on which upcoming Battlefield 3 is built upon. Considering the original Frostbite was one of the two engines powering Medal of Honor, this reveal only fuels the fire that Danger Close’s “unannounced” game is in fact the Medal of Honor sequel.
