Hans Zimmer scores Crysis 2
Crytek’s in-house composers Borislav Slavov and Tilman Sillescu have set the tone for Crysis 2. But lending a helping hand is the one name everybody recognizes at this point, and can pronounce: Hans Zimmer. The German composer – who’s music can be heard in blockbuster films like Inception, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Black Hawk Down and the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise – is returning to videogames after his stellar work on Modern Warfare 2.
“I was drawn to Crysis 2 because of Crytek’s passion for the project and the world they created,” explained Zimmer. “And I am very happy with the outcome of our collaboration.” Here’s a taste of said outcome.
You can listen to the soundtrack next week, which is when Crysis 2 ships, or you could do the right thing and suit up and prance around New York with you iPod after having purchased the soundtrack off of online retailers on March 22nd. Your call.
