Huge PS Home update adds multiplayer

Home, the online social app for the PS3, has revealed its latest update at GDC this year. Version 1.50 will offer “richer, more sophisticated and better connected gameplay experiences than we have seen before,” as the PlayStation Blog puts it.

The biggest addition is streaming multiplayer, meaning players can go head-to-head with friends rather than competing over leaderboards like previous Home games. It should also allow for more advanced first-person shooters and racing games, among other genres.

The first game to take advantage of all of this will be Lockwood’s Sodium Two, the sequel to one of the more developed PlayStation Home games, available now.
