Master Lusat Elden Ring: How to Find This Primeval Sorcerer

This post was last updated on September 1, 2023
As you progress through the various different questlines in Elden Ring, it will quickly become apparent that they are not the easiest to follow. There are minimal quest markers to lead the way, and in most cases, you’ll need to have paid close attention to what the NPC said.
In the Sorceress Sellen questline, you’ll need to track down two Primeval sorcerers, Master Azur and Master Lusat. Overall, Azur is relatively easy to find in Mt. Gelmir. Master Lusat, on the other hand, is a bit more difficult to find as he is tucked away in a hidden cave (Sellia Hideaway) in Caelid.
Read on as we tell you how to find Master Lusat and what you can get for knowing where to go.
Master Lusat’s Location

Finding Master Lusat can seem a little difficult depending on how much you have explored the lands between. He is in the Sellen Hideaway cave in Caelid, it’s not exactly easy to discover, and even if you have found it, you’ll have needed to progress through the sorceress Sellen questline as Master Lusat is hidden behind a sealed barrier.
How To Find Sellia Hideaway
Starting from the Church of the Plague site of grace (where you’ll first find Millicent), head north, up the hill, and through the wooden tree arch toward a graveyard. In the northeast, hidden among some trees, you’ll find a lone wizard (he can be a tough fight so be careful).
You can either kill or ignore the mage, then move behind the large headstone. Roll or hit the cliff face to reveal an illusory wall and uncover a secret entrance.
Master Lusat Exact Location
At the entrance, you’ll find the Sellia Hideaway site of grace (you must rest at it to unlock fast travel in the cave). After the site of grace, head down into the cave, passing a couple of enemies, as you descend deeper into the cave.
When you get to an open area with big crystals, stop and run over the crystal bridge directly in front of you, and then drop onto the lower bridge to the right. Kill the enemy and leap over the chasm to the following platform.
Head to the platform edge to your right and jump over another gap there. On your left as you descend the slope is another crystal bridge. Run onto it and drop all the way to the ground. At the bottom, you’ll find a cave flanked by two sizable crystals behind a hostile mob. The body of Master Lusat is inside.
Unlocking Lusat’s Barrier
If you are not following Sorceress Sellen’s questline, the area with Master Lusat will be locked. To get the key, you’ll need to:
- Locate Sorceress Sellen at the Waypoint Ruins (underneath the church like building with a giant flower). You’ll need to fight the Mad Pumpkin Head guarding her room first otherwise the door is blocked.
- She will introduce herself as the Graven Witch and offer to be your teacher which you need to accept.
- Learning (buying) sorceries from her will unlock more dialogue with her where she will give you the first task to find Sorcerer Azur.
- Azur is north of Hermit Village on Mt. Gelmir (he will give you the sorcery Comet Azur upon speaking to him).
- Afterwards, return and speak with Sellen where she will explain that you need to find, Master Lusat. Then she will give you an item that will allow you to break the seal that holds him.
What Loot You Can Get From Master Lusat

Once you find and interact with Master Lusat, he will gift you the Stars of Ruin spell. Return to Sellen, and she will reward you with a Starlight Shard. This is not the only thing you can get from him, though.
If you complete Sorceress Sellen’s questline and side with her against Witch Hunter Jerren, you can return to his body to find the Master Lusat’s set of armor, which will increase the damage of the Star Shower sorcery and Glintstone Stars by 10%.
Final Thoughts
It is not unusual to have trouble finding Lusat. After all, the path to him is hidden behind a gravestone on a cliff in the middle of Caelid. But once you find the hidden entrance, it is relatively straightforward as all you need to do is travel downward, and if you are playing a mage, it is well worth the effort as Stars of Ruin is a good spell to know.
