Microsoft sees success with Live’s latest features, sells 39 million consoles

Xbox Live’s recent additions, social and otherwise, have proven to be popular ones, Microsoft has announced. According to the company, almost 10 million users have made use of the Xbox 360’s Facebook, Twitter, Last.fm, 1080p instant on movies and other entertainment features. Facebook has seen over one million friend connections made through Live, while Last.fm saw 1.6 million new accounts and nearly half a billion minutes worth of music streamed through the system.

The company also announced that there are now over 39 million Xbox 360s worldwide, with 10 million of them sold last year.
