Monolith talk F.E.A.R. sequels, DLC, movie
A few weeks ago TVGB sat down with Monolith’s Dave Matthews, Primary Art Lead on F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin to talk all things F.E.A.R.. Aside from getting us pretty excited for the game’s release, Matthews also let slip some of the plans to expand the series – including sequels, movies and downloadable content.
When quizzed on potential sequels, Matthews was effusive about the size of the F.E.A.R. universe. “We have a tremendous amount of story that we would love to tell about Alma and about the universe. I think there is so much story that there is left to tell. We have dry marker boards full of story, so there is definitely a lot of story that we could tell. If the fans are into it, we’re into it.”
Matthews was similarly enthusiastic about the potential of a F.E.A.R. movie. “It would be awesome!F.E.A.R… created a lot of questions that we left unanswered. So in F.E.A.R. 2, we swept back through a lot of those questions and made very specific actions to answer a lot of those and then pose a few new ones because… as with every good horror or action film, we’ve got to leave a few lingering.”
As far as downloadable content for F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin is concerned, Matthews was less forthcoming, saying only, “I’m not allowed to talk about DLC. All I can say that is that we recognize its importance.” Unfortunately, the big cheesy grin on Matthews’ face when he said this isn’t quotable. But if it was it would scream, “You bet your ass we’ve got DLC!”
