The next Mortal Kombat game along with a — hold on to your hats — movie will be with us in 2013, WB is hoping.
The Legacy web series director Kevin Tancharoen is attached to helm with his writing partner Oren Uziel also on board.
“The new game and the online shorts prompted us to consider a reboot of a brand we hadn’t been actively thinking about,” says New Line president Tony Emmerich, hoping to best the previous two films which “haven’t aged well.”
As did Legacy, the flick will portray the characters in a more “more realistic” manner.
As said above, the plan is to release both the movie and game at the same time, with the movie available in theaters or included in a DVD/Blu-ray combo.
