News on “phenomenal” Insane in coming months — THQ

He may be out at THQ by now, but former core games boss Danny Bilson is still making headlines through recent interviews given. In one such chat, he said that we could expect announcements on Guillermo del Toro’s Insane “in the coming months.”

All has been quiet on the planned trilogy recently — not counting the ‘it’s cancelled’ scare — but that should change soon.

Insane is phenomenal. What we’re doing with it is phenomenal,” Bilson says of the game. “Working with Guillermo is a blast, some of the most fun I’ve ever had in my whole career. You’ll start seeing more announcements about that title in the coming months.”

As for the originally planned release date of 2013, nothing appears certain. “It could be later,” he says. “There are a lot of reasons you can probably guess why it might be later that are good reasons. Let me just tell you it’s good reasons.”

When quizzed on whether the reason could lie in the game being a next-gen effort, Bilson closed up in a hurry: “I might know but if I knew, I couldn’t talk about it.”

The announcement trailer below remains the only asset released of the game. No screenshots, gameplay, or anything of the sort has arrived yet.
