PC versions of Battlefield 1943, Bad Company 2 Onslaught canned
Bad news for PC gamers looking to get some keyboard and mouse time with Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2‘s Onslaught mode. The folks over at DICE have officially cancelled the projects in order to shift the teams’ focus to the upcoming Battlefield 3.
Writing in an official post on their blog, general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson says the studio made the hard decision to stop development on the PC versions in order to make Battlefield 3 the “biggest launch in DICE’s history.” The company still plans on keeping up support for previously launched titles but is also “hell bent on building new, innovative and high quality games.”
Troedsson admits that the team knows there are some who have been waiting on the PC release of Battlefield 1943 and the BFBC2 Onslaught mode, but is confident that this disappointment will “lead to an even better experience in Battlefield 3, not only on PC, but on all platforms.”
