Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City ‘hasn’t abandoned survival horror’ – dev
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City producer Mike Jones has stated that, despite the multiplayer nature of the game, the title ‘hasn’t abandoned’ its survival horror roots.
“Even though Operation Raccoon City is a more fully fledged third-person shooter action game this time around we haven’t abandoned the survival horror genre completely,” Jones told Gametrailers. “We’re still gonna try to scare you, we’re still gonna try to surprise you. We’ve got some more atmospheric and moodier levels as well as more exciting action levels and boss battles as well.
“So if you’re looking for a coop game you can play with your friends, if you’re looking for a challenging TPS experience or if you’re just looking for another Resident Evil experience with all the creatures, characters and environments that you know and love then Operation Raccoon City delivers on all of that.”
Can you have scares in a game shared with three other people? We’ll find out when Operation Raccoon City hits next March on PS3 and 360. PC is still searching for a date.
