Resistance 3 may not be the final Resistance

Insomniac’s sci-fi shooter Resistance 3 won’t hit shelves until 2011, but there’s already have some good news for fans who aren’t ready to say goodbye to the franchise anytime soon. In a recent issue of Game Informer, an Insomniac rep was asked if Resistance 3 was the last game in the series.

“I don’t think so,” was the response. “I think Resistance 3 is a story within the Resistance universe that can be expanded upon,” followed cryptically by: “Doors will be shut, but they won’t be slammed.”

We’re guessing that means that a Resistance 4 is eventually coming. However, it’s difficult to avoid bringing up the fact that slamming a door and closing it gently would both shut the door equally well. At least they’re not locking it, right?
