Update 2 / Several former Infinity Ward developers now at Respawn
Update 2: Lead software engineer Francesco Gigliotti makes eight.
Update: Lead designer Mackey McCandlish makes seven.
Original story: Respawn Entertainment has started reeling in former Infinity Ward employees.
The LinkedIn profiles of lead designer Todd Alderman, lead animator Mark Grisby, lead environmental artist Chris Cherubini, lead animator John Paul Messerly, and software engineer Rayme C. Vinson have all been updated to show that they’ve joined dismissed former bosses Jason West and Vince Zampella’s newly-formed, EA-backed studio. Programmer Jon Shiring joins them by announcing the news via his Twitter, “I have accepted a job with Respawn Entertainment. I can’t wait for May 1st!”
Up to this point, roughly a dozen people have parted ways with Infinity Ward since the beginning of the month — more are expected to follow suit by both analysts and Activision employees alike — so we’re guessing the list of names will get added to.
