Have you ever wanted more control over the custom content in your Sims 4 game? Then you need to install the Sims 4 tray importer!

This is a tool that allows you to easily store custom content (CC), edit your custom content, and share it with other players in the modding community.

Download

Step one in downloading the Sims 4 tray importer is to download the zip file. Find the download and then extract the contents to the Sims 4 mods folder.

You will also need to install the tray importer. To do that, double click on the download file (the .exe file) and go through the setup wizard.

After you download the setup wizard, the cc in your game will automatically import to the tray importer.

Note – You’ll need to have the latest net framework of the Sims 4 game in order to use the tray importer.

The tray importer is available for Mac users, too!

You will need to download a special file to download the tray importer for Apple computers. Outside of that, the tool works about the same.

Remove Unwanted and Broken CC with Tray Importer Sims 4

One of the main reasons Sims 4 users download the Sims 4 tray importer is to remove broken cc and unwanted cc from cluttering up your Sims 4 game.

Custom content is created by users, making the files susceptible to human error. Soon, your mods folder will become filled with downloaded content you don’t necessarily want.

When you search for files in your cc folder, you won’t see images of the content, which can make it difficult to delete the right file. It’s also relatively difficult to delete cc while playing the game.

With the tray importer, you can see photos of the cc in your game, making it easier to delete cc.

You will be able to find all of your custom content in the cc tab. Once you find the unwanted cc, simply delete it by right clicking on the image in your library and then selecting delete.

Deleted content will no longer appear in Create A Sim (CAS) or build mode when you load the Sims 4 game.

Edit Content in the Sims 4 Tray Importer

You can also use the tray importer to edit your cc to improve it.

When you click on cc in the left side of the tray importer, it will display the cc in the appropriate download folder.

When you right click on the appropriate file, you can edit by selecting “info” then “edit“.

You’ll have the opportunity to rename and recategorize the file.

You’ll also have the opportunity to copy cc to alter it using Paint or your other favorite photo editing software.

You’ll even get a nifty link to search for the cc in Google to find the original version.

Conclusion

Sims 4 mods allow players to add unique cc in CAS and Build Mode. Since cc is made by users, you may have files that glitch and take up space in your game.

It can be a pain to go through the files in the mods folder or in the game itself. The tray importer makes it easier than ever for Sims 4 players to manage cc.

Don’t forget to share custom content with your friends when it’s perfect!
