If you’re like me, you’re a fan of both Skylanders and cake. In that case, I hope you were watching Food Network on Tuesday. As announced on publisher Activision’s blog, the premier of Food Network’s new show, Cake Masters, had celebrity baker Duff Goldman and his team putting together a giant Skylanders cake in honor of the franchise’s fifth anniversary for Activision.

The cake features the lovably evil villain Kaos, along with four classic Skylanders: Spyro, Eruptor, Stealth Elf, and Jet-Vac. As is typical for the baker, the cake was wired with a number of special effects. These included an LED to mimic Spyro’s fire breath and a rig to make Eruptor spew out pudding in place of his trademark lava. There were plans to have Kaos emit real electricity, but it was deemed too dangerous. If you want to see the cake in the making, the episode will re-air on Saturday, April 16th. And if you’d like to learn more about the Skylanders series, you can check out our review of the most recent entry, Skylanders Superchargers.
