Ubisoft has announced that the successor to trippy rail-shooter Rez is heading to both Xbox 360 and PS3 in Spring 2011. The Child of Eden will be produced by Tetsuya Mizuguchi, the creator of the original game and creative brain behind the distinctive puzzle series Lumines.
The game places the player in a battle to save something called “Project Lumi”, a mission to reproduce a human personality inside Eden, which archives human memories. The enemy is an unknown virus, which needs to be eliminated to save the day a la Darwinia.
Touted as a “multi-sensory shooter”, the game will support both Move and Kinect along with standard controllers. Given the prominence Ubisoft has placed on Kinect, Xbox 360 players should expect a significantly-enhanced version to get them “truly immersed” in the game. Exciting stuff.
