Tablets and smartphones now make up 8% of gaming market
The once dominant home console business is no longer a beastly juggernaut. (Well, it still is, but just not as huge as it was).
According to a recent report, smartphones and tablet devices now make up 8% of the gaming market, up from 5% a year ago.
Additionally, the report states that market share for the Nintendo DS family of consoles dipped from 70% to 57%, while the PSP dropped from 11% to 9% in the past year.
I’ve played many, many games on my smartphone this year, so I’m certainly contributing. What about you?
