While we’re waiting on Half-Life 2 Episode 3 or Half-Life 3 to emerge from the dark depths of Valve, the awesome cast and crew over at Beyond Black Mesa have created something to tide us over. Their website debuted this week with the above teaser of their Half-Life inspired independent film, aptly titled “Beyond Black Mesa,” that will be making the Con rounds soon.
Set five years after the Black Mesa incident, the film apparently has nothing to do with Gordon Freeman, but centers on Adrian Shephard and a band of resistance fighters in a constant struggle to survive. When Shephard and the other resistance members learn of a Combine plan to destroy the remainders of mankind, they must warn others or suffer extinction.
There have been some great fan made movies before, but this appears nothing short of amazing. We can’t wait for the full length feature to see some Combine getting blowed up.
