Tekken 7: Lee/Violet trailer

Let me just say right off the bat that I am not a Lee/Violet user. I am a Jin Kazama user. That said I do like concepts of Jeet Kune Do, parts of his Japanese character design and the surprising breadth Lee/Violet brings to the Mishima blood feud.

BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe just announced at Gamescom that Lee Chaolan along with his secret alter ego, Violet, will be returning in Tekken 7. Pretty obvious since Katsuhiro Harada, the game’s producer had said that in Tekken 7, we will see the end of the Mishima Clan blood feud, which includes Lee… but not by blood. Where was I? Oh yeah. I was about to show you this trailer:

Yeah you don’t play Tekken for its realism or physics. But the effects are super next-gen, am I right?

The Character

Lee Chaolan, for those of you unfamiliar with Tekken lore, was first introduced in Tekken 1. He was raised by Heihachi Mishima to rival his son Kazuya Mishima, also receiving the same class education and status. For unknown reasons he was expelled from the Mishima Zaibatsu. Lee could not enter Tekken: The King of Iron Fist Tournament as it was organized by the Zaibatsu. In typical Clark Kent fashion, he donned his shades and changed his hair color and name to Violet.

And... still not fooling anybody.

And… still not fooling anybody.

Lee, like any dashing, gimpy and articulate fighter would do, founded Violet Systems, a tech company specializing in human robotics. (Yeah, that’s what I’d do.) And as the Mishima Zaibatsu and the Kazuya led G-Corporation went to war, Lee had been planning ways to exact his revenge on both Heihachi and Kazuya. One method was to support/use Lars Alexandersson who had recently turned on the Zaibatsu. If this is getting a little bit confusing, how about I show you this info-graphic by sasukeuchiha_04_96:

Okay, that didn't really help. Sorry, made it worse.

How about I just leave you with some calculated/random button mashing?

That’s better.
