The Walking Dead videogame to receive bad-ass voice talent from series’ stars
Great news for people looking forward to the upcoming FPS The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct! The show’s resident fearless tough hombre Daryl Dixon and his shitty racist brother Merle will be voiced by their respective actors (Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker) for Activision’s shooter. Gamers will be playing as the crossbow-wielding Daryl in the game, following the exploits of him and his brother as they try desperately to find Atlanta, the one place they heard was safe from the zombie apocalypse. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct takes place before the events of the show, so expect an original, fresh story from developer Terminal Reality.
Playing as Daryl is already cool enough, but getting Reedus to voice him adds a great level of depth, familiarity, and connectedness for players, so props to Activision for getting him on board (even though I am more of a Rick man, myself). The game will be out in 2013 for PS3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC platforms. Check out the game’s website to pre-order and see a short teaser, complete with awesome Daryl dramatic “I’m gonna kill all these damn zombies with my arrows” pose (I want his jacket)!
