Ubisoft jabs Black Ops II; Ghost Recon: Future Soldier goes gold
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is golden, Ubisoft has just announced, meaning that, after more delays than I’d care to count, the console versions of the game are finally all finished up and heading to the presses.
The game will arrive on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 22nd in North America, the 24th in Europe, and the 25th in the UK. The PC version will take a bit longer; look for that in June.
Taking advantage of the media storm surrounding Call of Duty: Black Ops II‘s futuristic setting at the moment, Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft, didn’t miss the chance to get a little zinger in, either. “While one of our competitors recently revealed plans to imitate our game’s future technology for their release in the fall, we’re proud to be bringing Ghost Recon: Future Soldier to retail this month,” he said in today’s announcement, clearly pointing his finger at the recently revealed Black Ops sequel.
He further adds: “Future Soldier has an unparalleled amount of high-tech weapons, gadgets and technology based on real prototypes currently in development that will show gamers the true meaning of future warfare.”
The company today released the Ghost Recon Alpha prequel video as well. Watch that here.
