Assassin’s Creed II sells 9 million

Assassin’s Creed II has sold almost 9 million copies worldwide since its launch late last year, Ubisoft reports today.

The number comes from the company’s fiscal 2009-2010 earnings report which states: “The ongoing exceptional performance delivered by Assassin’s Creed II which sold-in nearly 9 million units during the year.”

The title contributed to the slightly higher-than-expected sales of the fourth quarter.

Of course, there’s more where that came from; the multiplayer-equipped Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood is expected to ship this holiday.
