Borderlands now at 3 million sold

Gearbox’s Borderlands, aka the fastest-selling new intellectual property of 2009, has reached 3 million copies sold, CEO and president Randy Pitchford has said. Take-Two’s financial results released in mid-December showed that the role-playing shooter had reached the 2 million mark by the end of October, meaning the extra million was generated in about three and a half months, if Pitchford’s data is recent.

Earlier today, Gearbox shot out some new screens from The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, the game’s latest and largest DLC which, according to design director Paul Helquist, is due “very soon”.
